Traditional Philosophy only concentrates on meeting the Specification Limits and not Specification Target.
Due to this “Goal Post Mentality” the probability of number of products not meeting the Specification Limit is higher.

Conventional Philosophy was devised by Genichi Taguchi.
It concentrates on meeting the Specification Target and considers variation from Specification Target “evil” as it leads to Loss of the Consumer or the Producer.
As a result the probability of number of products not meeting the Specification Limit is minimum.
